The height, h, is:\[h=\sqrt{5^2-4^2}=3 \]The sum of the triangle areas is 2(bh/2)=\[2\left(\frac{8*3}{2}\right)=24 \]The area of the sides and the floor is\[2*(17*5)+(17*8)=306 \]Adding up all of the areas yields 330 square units.
