I'm liking the new smartscore thing. I used to be level 11, now I have a smartscore of 90!

Hey @psujono - well, the Smart Score will be changing a LOT in the next day or so. It'll probably be at least a week before the Scores start to settle and resemble the 'true' value. So, enjoy that 91 while you can ;)

dont stress yourself @karatechopper like @cshalvey said...these arent permanent yet so there'll be no use trying to understand an inconsistent (well almost because of the changes) basis of scoring ^_^

Agreed to what lgbasallote said above, this is going to be changing a *lot* over the next 24 hours and will continue to get tweaked throughout the week. The algorithm is (obviously) far from perfect. BUT we wanted to get it out in the wild and see what came crashing down on our heads (i.e. performance, etc). Honestly, if the only major problem is that everyone's scores are higher than we've expected - we've done a pretty good job of engineering this feature. :)

In re: SmartScores dropping - yes. It's possible for a score to go down under certain circumstances, but we're not releasing details about that at the moment because, honestly, the algorithm is about to get overhauled a bit - so what's the point in taking the time? :P

@cshalvey will have to confirm, but I think the plan is to compile some sort of FAQ after all of this has settled a bit. So, we're not going to leave you hagin' without answers!

Hi @pratu043 - medals are still here, don't worry! We've changed the system now to allow only one medal per user per question, and we've run this on old medal counts (hence why they have dropped). However, SmartScore also takes into account every interaction you have on site, so even if you didn't get a medal on a question, you still get credit towards your SmartScore!

@EarthCitizen There should be a pop-up that happens when you level up I believe, but that may not be added yet. Did you not receive a notification?

Sorry to correct you cshalvey, but there is no "level up" popup per se. You get a popup when one of your component titles change.

Ahh, never be sorry to correct me @farmdawgnation - just beware my wrath over Twitter... ;) So, my apologies @EarthCitizen - Farm is correct, and I am woefully, hopelessly wrong ;).

In terms of Twitter EarthCitizen, one of the easiest ways to help is to use the 'Share' button from OpenStudy. We're hoping to get as many people as possible to do that later today (US time) as well as tomorrow, for the public launch. Basically, we're looking for two 'Twitter Blasts' - one at ~3:30PM PST today and one at 1:45PM PST tomorrow (Tuesday, April 17th).

Im lost though :| I've gotten atleast 10 medals today and my Score hasn't went up. Not even 1 point.

Carniel: Well first of all our implementation isn't quite perfect yet. As you can see, pretty much everyone online is clumped up in the 90's. We're going to be fixing that. However, that said, generally speaking the smart score will be less fluid than the levels were.
