OpenStudy (mertsj):

Do you know the definition of slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like, m=y2-y1/x2-x1?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

What you have there is a teaching tool designed to help you understand that slope is a ratio. As y and x change, so does the slope. The slope is the change in y divided by the change in x. The change in y is represented by dy and the change in x is represented by dx. Of course these values can also be found by subtracting y coordinates and x coordinates if you know the ordered pairs.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So would the relationship be how the ratio increases as the slope does?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The relationship would be how the slope increases or decreases are the ratio does.

Well yeah...thak you :)
