I need help with the last 2 problems. I have no idea what to answer

Well, what characteristic does a represent if it is not the amplitude. Maybe you are supposed to describe what amplitude means.

So now in f they say what characteristic of the function does a represent. I guess I would say that |a|, the amplitude represents the largest value the function can attain.
I think they want you to demonstrate that you can relate these values to the graph.
So basically explain in detail what each value does to the graph?
