what is the difference between differentiating sin^2x and sinx^2???

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

sin^2(x) is equal to (sin x)^2 which when differentiated is 2(sin x)(cosx)dx sin(x^2) which when differentiated is cos(x^2)(2x)dx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you multiply (sinx) x (sinx) it is (sin^2)x since this means (sinx)^2...the other one means that the power is only on the x not on the whole function
