-505 ?

No. Numbers are on a continum. - 0 + When you subtract you go to the left, adding you go to the right. So you start on the left in that problem, then subtract, so you go negative 362 more.

I'm trying to show you how to answer the question rather than give you the answer directly. Numbers go away from 0 in a negative direction to the left and a positive direction to the right. Subtracting goes to the left regardless of starting point, Adding goes to the right regardless of starting position. So if you start with 4 and add 8 you go from 4, 8 more numbers to the right, equals 12. if you start with 4 and subtract 8 you go from 4, 8 numbers to the left. 3,2,1,0,-1,-2,-3,-4, equals -4. if you start with -5 and add 7 you go from -5, 7 to the right. -4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2. Equals 2 if you start with -5 and subtract 7 you go from -5, 7 to the left. -6,-7,-8,-9,-10,-11,-12. Equals 12.
