OpenStudy (sarahc):

PLEASE HELP!!!! A student solved the following problem and made an error. In which line did the student make the first mistake? Line 1: AC=2, DF=2 AC ≅ DF Line 2: ∠A ≅ ∠F Line 3: Length of AB A(0,2) B(2,4) AB=2.83 (Pic inserted) Line 4: Length of DF. D (2, 0) F (4, 2) DF=2.83 (pic inserted) Line 5: AB ≅ DF & Line 6: ABC ≅ FDE

OpenStudy (sarahc):

Line 3-

OpenStudy (sarahc):

Line 4-

OpenStudy (mertsj):

How do we know that Line 2 is correct?

OpenStudy (sarahc):

Sorry , because of this....

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

sarahc... i want to say something. is it given that AC congruent to DF or you are saying this by seeing figure?

OpenStudy (sarahc):

I was saying that by seeing the figure.

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

so it is wrong. look in your calculation . one side you say, Line 1: AC=2, DF=2 AC ≅ DF and then you say AB=2.83 and DF=2.83. How DF = AB and AC (both in one time?)

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

If you are going to prove both triangles equal then i can prove it here.

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

@sarahc is that clear to you madam?

OpenStudy (sarahc):

Yes, thank you!!

OpenStudy (shayaan_mustafa):

ok you are welcome :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is it line 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea its 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but there's no line 1?
