True or False?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The principal square root of b is \[-\sqrt{b}\]

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

false.... but its just a guess

OpenStudy (zepp):

it's +/- sqrt(b)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

meaning false?

OpenStudy (zepp):

\[\pm \sqrt{b}\] Like this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oohhhhh okay so false then......wow good guess campbell_st

OpenStudy (zepp):

Oh, just remembered, the principal square root must be a positive, so \[+\sqrt{b}\] or just \[\sqrt{b}\] or \[b ^{1/2}\] But it remains false :)
