SIDS exists even in households with non-smoking mothers. ,what could be the causes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sleeping prone (on the stomach) using pacifiers and ventilators is proven to reduce sids

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Environmental tobacco smoke (ETS), also known as "second hand smoke," poses significant risks to children.Children of smokers are also 2 1/2 times more likely to die of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), or crib death. One study found that nearly 60 percent of all SIDS cases could be prevented if smokers stopped smoking around babies and pregnant women. so it is not necessary that a non smoker household mother can prevent her child from SIDS.It is smoke that badly effect non smokers and unborn babies.
