OpenStudy (jensine):

how do you factor the trinomial 3x^2-19x+6

OpenStudy (amistre64):

is there an y common factors?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats spose to be "any" not "an y" :)

OpenStudy (jensine):

i dont think theres any y common fatctors it just said factor the trinomial (:

OpenStudy (amistre64):

theres no x in common and they aint got numbers in common so thats step one

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the next sep I do is multiply the first and last numbers

OpenStudy (amistre64):

6(3) = 18 factors of 18 that add up to 19 are? 1 and 18

OpenStudy (amistre64):

set up (x-18/3)(x-1/3) thats pretty much it; simplify the fractions and if theres still a denom, put it back in front

OpenStudy (jensine):

i do the same thing with this problem? 49^2-21x+2
