I have to calculate the area of the sector created by ADB. http://curriculum.kcdistancelearning.com/courses/GEOMx-HS-WA10/b/assessments/C-CirclesExam/Geometry_7_Exam_102q3.gif I know the area of the circle, which is 254.34, do I need that to solve this? If so, how do I do that?

OpenStudy (zepp):

What's the measurement of the angle ADB?.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know. It doesn't tell me. I included the picture in my question.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it does tell you, you just have to be able to decipher it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

how many degrees are in a straight line?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or, since you know the total area; divide it in half and then take off that 20 degree part; amounts ot the same thing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many degrees are in a circle then divide my 2

OpenStudy (zepp):

360 - Angle ACB (Which is 180 + 20) = 160 So for 360 degrees, area is 254.34 for 160 degrees in the same circle, area is..? Set up a proportion, then solve it :)
