Solve:log(4x+10)=3

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

this can also be interpreted as log_10 (4x+ 10) = 3 you can transform this to exponential i assume you know the answer since you closed it?

sam (.sam.):

log(4x+10)=3 \[e^{\log(4x+10)}=e^3\] \[4x+10=e^3\] \[x=\frac{e^3-10}{4}\]

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

@.Sam. i dont think e^ log(4x+10) = 4x + 10 because the base of common logarithims is 10 not e...

the choices are a.-7/4 b.495/2 c.250 d.990

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

well..going with what i wrote...transform to exponential so 10^3 = 4x + 10 just simplify then isolate x..
