um, how do you divide a BIGGER number into a SMALLER number, pelase help! example a car drove 500 miles in 800 minutes, how would you solve this?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

We already answered this question for you. Why are you asking it again?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{500}{800}=\frac{5}{8}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I didn't understand it the first time.

Then you should have asked or clarified in that, not a new question. The same people could have helped you. Sure, the example in the previous question was reversed, but the concept is the same. When dividing and both numbers have 0s you can remove the common ones, and then divide with the remaining numbers. In this case there are 2 0s in both, so 500 becomes 5 and 800 becomes 8.
