a man has 2 kids, and they are not 2 girls, what's the chance that they are 1 boy 1 girl?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

so we hav 2 more chances 2 boys or 1 boy and 1 girl hence probability of 1 boy amd 1 girl is 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B G B B G B I'd say 2/3.

OpenStudy (blacksteel):

2/3 Consider the 4 possibilities for older and younger child: Boy, boy Boy, girl Girl, boy Girl, girl We know that they are not both girls, so we can eliminate the last possibility. Thus there are 3 possible scenarios and 2 of them have one boy, one girl.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

hmm oopps :P ya 2/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh Thank you Blacksteel, you agree with me!
