Line notation is just a shortcut for drawing Carbons attached to Hydrogen. Each corner is a carbon. Since every carbon has 4 bonds, unless there's a line attaching a carbon to another, it is assumed to have hydrogen filling the rest of the bonds unless it's noted otherwise.
