OpenStudy (anonymous):

which circulation pathway is aorta a part of?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We have two circulation pathways - pulmonary circulation, and systemic circulation. One brings blood to the lungs to be oxygenated; the other brings oxygenated blood to the rest of the body. The aorta, connected to our left ventricle, brings oxygenated blood to supply our bodies. Therefore - it belongs to the systemic pathway.

Your pulmonary arteries and veins bring blood away from the heart and back to the heart (from the lungs) in the pulmonary circulation pathway.

Kma230 thanks so much! :)

I agree. I also think that the aorta is a part of the systemic circulation.

How does the pulmonary vien differ from the other veins in the body?
