In profile you can see "Medals for Asking" How to get them if you can't give medal to question asker anymore?
It may be possible you cant get medals for asking questions anymore.........they probably got rid of the button.
yes they get rid of that button but before this update there wasn't such information about how many I received medals by asking questions at all, so it's not logical by removing ability to give medals to question asker but making it possible to see how many you received it
It is possible to still receive a medal in your own question. You would receive the "Best Answer" from a user. We do have historic copeis of our databases when there were both Best Question and Best Answer buttons.
so what if I ask question but not replying to it? do I need deliberately post something after my question so users could have chance to give me medal for asking?
That is correct. But I can't envision a situation where you've interacted well in a question where you haven't posted a reply.
This is a further reinforcement of the idea that coming merely for answers is not acceptable.
Why is Medals Received not equal to Medals for Answers + Medals for Asking ?
Let me know whose profile you're seeing that discrepancy on. We're still double-checking to make sure that data was migrated correctly for everyone.
I guess on every old user profile
even on your own
Medals Received: 574 Medals for Answers: 217 Medals for Asking: 45 http://openstudy.com/users/diyadiya :D
