how and what do i write a conversation between Andrew Jackson and Frederick Douglas who had different dreams for the United States. What would they talk about? How would they express their opinions? What would they say about the other person’s ideas?
when i research i have to look for Part 2: • What did they say about their hopes for the future of the United States? • How did they work to help change the United States? • How did they react to key events happening in the United States? • Were there any key events in each person’s life that shaped their dream for the United States? Part 3: Before i write my dialogue, reflect on the information i learned while researching the two people i chose. Write down my thoughts on the following questions; i will need the answers to complete my dialogue • What was each person’s dream for the United States? • Why did they have that particular dream for the United States? • How do the two dreams differ? • What would person A not like about person B’s dream for the United States and vice versa? Part 4: Make sure to address the following issues in your final product: • Start out your dialogue with each person stating their dream for America. Each “dream” should be at least a paragraph long. • Spend the rest of the conversation with the two people responding to each other about their dreams. • Use the following format to write your dialogue Thoreau: I believe that . . . Last Part: You may wish to have the people ask one another questions. For example an opponent to abolishing slavery might ask an abolitionist: o How will we compensate all of the slave owners for their property if we free the slaves? • Focus the dialogue on the specific issues. Although they may criticize or challenge each other’s beliefs, the conversation should not become a namecalling session. Have each person comment on both dreams. • Your dialogue should be based on both historical fact and imaginative details derived from historical fact. • Your dialogue should be at least 2 pages long, single spaced, typed in size 12 font.
