for adding fractions with different denominators (numbers on the bottom of the fraction), you must first put them in a same denominator by multiplying them. you can easily get the common denominator by multiplying all of the denominators: in this case, 9x7=63. so you can rewrite the problem as: (14/63)+(-27/63) = (14-27)/63 = -13/63 good luck!
