How do you find the Volume/Area/Base of a rectangle prism.

Hey, Dpal. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hi... same question huh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I am stuck on an actual question now. I am having trouble with the formula.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The bottom shape is a square prism with base edges of 3 cm and a height of 10 cm. What is the volume of the composite figure if the top shape is a right pyramid with a height of 2 cm?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have a picture of the composite figure?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Si!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

One second!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here you go.

I used the formula to find area, but I think I messed it up. 1/2bh = a is only for finding triangles, correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1334708317877:dw| ok let's look for volume first... total volume of the composite figure is volume of the prism + volume of the pyramid... agreed?
