Is (0, -2) a solution of 2x - 5y = 10?

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

yes

OpenStudy (alexwee123):

it's also the y intercept

OpenStudy (chriss):

does 2(0)-5(-2)=10?

OpenStudy (mathteacher1729):

Do you know how to substitute values into an equation? (0,-2) means that... 0 = the x value -2 = the y value So when you have 2x -5y = 10 this means "2 times the x value minus... 5 times the y value ... equals 10" So is that statement true, or is it false, given the values of x and y?
