ask a lot of questions and "engage" with your answerers..chatting may help too...however this is MY assumption..i  do not speak for the moderators, administrators, the company, the users, and all to whom it may concern ^_^

I actually built the help boxes that should explain this score on your profile a bit better today. They will go out in the next release. But yes, asking questions, conversing, essentially *being* on the site will cause your engagement to go up.

I will add that Engagement is one of the harder categories to get a high score in, so don't stress it. :)

Ask questions, and make sure to log in everyday. Engagement mainly increases by asking questions. =P
