Yes. I would advise reading the first few chapters of the book that forms part of the course and follow the videos. You are guided along the way. When stuck post your question and code over here. Someone will surely help. You can even search prior posts. Hope this helps.

u should opt for bottom approach to learn programming.Start from most basic language and go to object oriented prom development

It all depends on what you are after; if you would like to learn a programming language to be able dabble in code then there are many language around. Python is pretty nice. Object oriented languages are also great contenders and here I disagree with jainarayan. On the other hand if you want to learn computer science; techniques etc than find the course and the language it is based on. MIT 6.00 is that type of course.
