how u came with the answer because i try doing and its giving me a deferentt answer
and hero am trying but am not that good in math and if u could help me ill appreciate
\[42/(5-3) = 42/2 = 21\]
If you want an explanation, the rule is to apply order of operations. PEMDAS P = Parentheses E = Exponents M = Multiplication D = Division A = Addition S = Subtraction
Since we have a set of parentheses in the denominator, we have to perform the operation within the parentheses first.
Afterwards, the next step is to apply division.
Doing that: 42/(5-3) = 42/2 = 21
okay i now what i did wrong
thank so much to both
I think @integralsabiti gets what I mean by stating the general rule first
Sometimes stating general rules/approaches are necessary to clear up any possible confusion concerning a math problem.
so how u do this one
yep i am with @Hero .These are the rules of Maths.
Danny made a mistake in the following problem. Part 1) In which line was the mistake made? Part 2) Show your work and give the correct answer? Line 1 21 + 35 รท 7 + 6(2) Line 2 21 + 5 + 6(2) Line 3 21 + 11(2) Line 4 21 + 22 Line 5 43
how do i do this one how and could get a answer
i came up with line 3 is the answer
Once again, you have to make sure the order of operations are being followed here. I listed them above.
line 3 is the incorrect step, therefore line 3 is the right choice to pick.
danny should have multiply before adding he was supposd to add 5 and 6 then multiply 6 and 2 first
He wouldn't have added 5 to 6 because 6 would have been multiplied by 2 to get 12
Either way, his step 3 was incorrect and you spotted it.
thank u so much
hero i have one more if you could help 7+52*4 am getting 215
why
7 + (52 x 4) 7 + 208 = 215 What's the problem?
