A baseball is thrown up into the air. The ball's height in feet is modeled by the equation h(t) = -16t2 + 32t + 10. (h = height, t = time in seconds) Find the maximum height of the ball. a) 26 feet b) 23 feet c) 10 feet d) 2.3 feet

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

differentiate the equation of height wrt time 't', and equate the differential to 'zero'. The 't' for which it's zero shall give you the time at which the ball reaches its maximum height. Put that 't' in the equation for height 'h', and find the required height.
