Anyone know some good answers to these it is for an essay: What attracted women to the western frontier? What type of woman might be drawn to life in the west? What role did women play in the western frontier? How did frontier life affect the women who travelled west? What were some of the accomplishments of women in the west?

Well, women probably were looking for equality out on the frontier. They still had their homely duties and children raising, but out there they also had opportunities to do more physical work than if they would have stayed in a big city. The west would defiantly need a strong woman, it was not for the faint of heart The women's roles were mainly to take care of housework, cleaning, cooking, children, the whole biz there. Many helped their husbands with field or ranch work, though they weren't given much credit for it. Some accomplishments? Hm, the first one that comes to my mind, I can't remember her name, but she went with her husband who was a minister, and braved many dangers to try and convert the native americans around the country. She saved his life more than once and continued working after he died. GRRRRR, I wish I could remember her name! xO But there were many like her, who did the same thing. Hope this helps :)
