simplify 8^5/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8^(1/3)=2...2^5=32

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 8^(5/3) or (8^5)/3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its is 8^(5/3) and i have to solve it mentally

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know the correct answer is 32, but how do you get it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can re write it to the \[\sqrt[3]{8^{5}}\] multiply out 8^5 then take the cube root of it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 8^(1/3)\[\sqrt[5/3]{8}=(\sqrt[1/3]{8})^{5}=(2)^{5}=2^5=32\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get, thank you!!!!
