Simplify 4(2x + 1) - 3(y + 1)

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Distribute.

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Combine like terms.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try using the distributive property. Multiply the 4 by each of the terms in the parentheses, then multiply the 3 by each of the terms in the second set of parenthesis. You should be able to algebraically "combine like terms" to combine the terms that don't have an "x" or "y". Let me know if you need anything else!

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

You should be done after those two steps.
