If we perform the experiment "Toss two dice", what is the probability of getting a sum of two? 1/6 1/12 1/36

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thirty six possibilitities, only one (1,1) as a 2 as a total

Assuming two 6 sided die, then they will only sum to two when both numbers are 1. Probability of getting a 1 on first die is 1/6. Probability of getting 1 on the second die is also 1/6. Because both events need to happen, you multiply. Answer is 1/36.
