what is it

Suppose you divide a polynomial by a binomial. How do you know if the binomial is a factor of the polynomial?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you familiar with the rational root theorem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No . . .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the short answer is that it is a factor if you get no remainder

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just like if i divide 12 by 4 i get 3 with no remainder , so 4 is a factor of 12, but if you divide 10 by 4 you get 2 with a remainder of 2, so 4 is not a factor of 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In addition^ To find out if a binomial is a factor, it has to be a factor of the lead degree and constant.

i dont know this one
