Question

anyone knows about watermold fungi?

Answer 1

Water mold is the common name for two groups of organisms classified into two different kingdoms. Some water molds are in the large kingdom Protista such as Saprolegnia in the Oomycetes. Other water molds, such as Allomyces in the Chytridiomycota, are in the kingdom Fungi. The two groups are distinguished by their chemical composition and structure. Both groups cause problems in aquatic environments such as ponds, swimming pools and aquaria.
