In the first set of problems. Units and Dimensional Analysis Challenge Problem Solutions. Problem 1. What does b in the first equation stand for and in the equations 5 and 6 how to we determine V=0 and x=-1/2

"b" is the constant of proportionality. It is used whenever you wish to replace \[\alpha\] with "=" If the exponents of all the fundamental dimensions are added and compared to the Left-Hand-side of the equation, you will find that V=0 and x=-1/2 Hope this helped :)
