I'm traveling to Germany in June with my class (we are learning German) can anyone give me any advice about what is different between the US and Germany? Or tips while being there? Or just any important useful information that I should know about the culture (or anything else) of Germany... Thanks!

In my experience with German exchange students while I was in Sweden - the German teaching students there were way more direct and unselfconcious compared to American and Japanese students. They were super nice, very friendly, and great fun. I found their directness refreshing but continually surprising.

German's can generally speak better English than we can speak German!

Um...I'm staying in Germany right now but I live in the US. One thing that is different here is that they are much stricter about laws and more inflexible. Don't, don't, don't ever ask for anything off the menu at a restraunt or try to negotiate a price down at a shop as you would in other European countries.
