Multiply the expressions, and simplify. (-10x^-5 y^-2) · (-9x^-4y)

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Is this the question? \[(-10x ^{-5}y ^{-2})(-9^{-4y})\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Almost the last part is -9x^-4y Just forgot the x after 9.. The answer I got was 90x-9y-1. wasn't sure if that is correct???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

90x^-9y^-1.. is what I ment

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Do you know the answer to this similar question? a*y^5*b*y^11

OpenStudy (kropot72):

The answer to my posting above is a*b*y^(5+11)=a*b*y^16

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Multiplying out your question gives: 90*x^(-5-4y)*y^-2 Which ca be rewritten as follows: \[(90x ^{-5})\div(x ^{4y}y ^{2})\]
