Without seeing the report it's impossible to know this. 
However, this might help you.
The thesis statement will always be in the first paragraph. Or I've seen it in the second before, depending on the paper.
The thesis statement is the sentence upon which the rest of the paper is based. It's what the rest of the paper is attempting to defend, explain, expand upon, clarify, etc. 
So the question can be rephrased (almost) to ask what does the rest of the report set out to explain / prove? (While also being a sentence in the first or second paragraph.

To find the answer, all you have to do is read the lesson. It tells you to read your writing with power book (pg 391), and the thesis statement is literally highlighted with an arrow pointing to it saying "thesis". Easy for those who do their work correctly.
