OpenStudy (sasogeek):

I had a free day today and thought I'd spend it here and learn, if i'm not able to even help at all cos i didn't think I was going to have some busy activity going on, first question I open and i'm disappointed. it turns out some users also explicitly don't care about medals or their value. This isn't the OS I knew, I'm going to be away again, I might have another free day tomorrow but i'm not sure if i'll be here. in any case, take a look and if you're impressed, awesome! if not, when OS changes, email me if you care :) http://openstudy.com/study?login#/updates/4f91308be4b000310faf2071

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

my email btw is sasogeek@yahoo.com :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

lol it was serious at the start :P haha

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

btw...i only noticed your logo now..clever @sasogeek haha

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

what was serious at the start?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

the thread...we were really answering the question

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

my point is, the thread changed from answering the question to something i consider nonsense. until the person got help, everything else was and is secondary pertaining to that thread.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Okay I think there are two things to take from this. (a) For all those involved "thread hijacking" or posting irrelevant answers in questions this is against the code of conduct and really quite unfair to the user who asked the question. Please don't repeat this. Also if you see it happening please report it. (b) Users not caring about the medals is actually fairly common, if the user doesn't care about medals, just questions and helping people this is actually a good thing as it means people are looking past just that gain of medals but helping people. But in the same light, if you don't care about medals please only give them about to users who are correctly answering a question - other people care about them. Sasogeek, sorry you are disappointed but remember these things are quite random and I think you just got into a bit of bad luck with that particular question. I must say, Open Study is really the same as it was, with a few more users and a different format :) I think many of the new changes have improved the site but as any websites there are times where things don't work as intended, so don't worry too much - this isn't site wide.

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

well lets just say i put this out cos i got a bit agitated and i don't sit still with such things, i'll keep bringing them up even if it seems too much, i like to get things off my chest. sorry if i offend anyone. i just didn't think it was right, considering most of the users involved with this were experienced users who knew better. but all the same, i just hope things get better. i guess i'm not a lucky person, i can only hope for better. thanks though

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, from what I could see, they kinda got off track but they went back to answering it and they said sorry...

OpenStudy (trancenova):

That is true, so thanks for getting back on track! :) but please keep in mind not do it in the future.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I wasn't in the thread at all, I just went to the link.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Lol, well thanks to those involved for getting back on track! :P

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yeah..sorry for that randomness..we shouldve known better to control our randomness to chat only. we need to take askers' questions seriously as it is our main objective at Openstudy to teach users. entertainment comes second...or some cardinal number below. i think i speak for @lalaly and @apoorvk when i say sorry for that and it won't happen again..and i think i should admit as well that there was another circumstance we did that..and we are sorry for that too..the latexing just got us excited ^_^

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Well I do understand getting excited :P Its easy enough to do. Thanks for understanding :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

thanks for talking it out as well ^_^ that was probably warning worthy or some sort but you instead gave us a talk :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

btw @sasogeek i assure you that that was a one time thing only..that RARELY happens..do not lose hope in openstudy yet. there are a lot of users remaining who have great discipline..the boredom of lack of questions just got to us i guess but i know it's not an excuse and again i apologize for that in behalf of the others

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm a good user, with great discipline. I get in too much of a hurry lol

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

sooooooo...are we good now? brofist? O:)

OpenStudy (trancenova):

You sound very sorry, brofist, but not sure if that is for me or for saso :)

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

@sasogeek , we are all really sorry for that randomness, and unprofessional behavior. As @lgbasallote said above, I think we were just over-excited with our newly acquired LaTeXing skills, and we admit it shouldn't have happened. We are really sorry that your day got spoiled, but believe me as TranceNova says, OS hasn't changed. OS means a lot to each of us, and we shall definitely not let such stupid things happen again. I apologise whole-heartedly from my own conscience as well as for @lalaly and @lgbasallote too. Discipline does, and always will come first on OS. Please come back and stay with us on OS today (as well as tomorrow), am sure you'll have an experience as good as the past. :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

lol that was for @sasogeek you're not my bro anymore @TranceNova :P but i think we can do the chickfist \m/ im good with names yay

OpenStudy (sasogeek):

yh we're good, i'll leave things as they are. i can only observe and make comments, change isn't mine to execute. like i said, i can only hope, nothing more. thanks btw :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

thanks for the feedback anyway saso...we need to know these things so we know when we're getting out of line..if everyone keeps quiet the world will become a cruel place..with no change happening..just people caring about themselves..not listening to other peoples' advices and suggestions.

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

We'll all execute the change, together. Really thank you for posting this above^, we must realise afterall what we were doing. As for @lgbasallote when was TranceNova your bro? =P

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Yes, @lgbasallote said exactly what I wanted to!!

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

when i thought she was a guy :P let's admit a person studying spiders...first thing youll think is it's a guy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True^

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Lol. i think her pic and username said more.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

trance and nova does not suggest a girl..neither does a flower

OpenStudy (apoorvk):

Lol.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Bwaha it suggests a girl if you know me ;D Anyway I wasn't sure who you meant so I figured I probably should answer just in case haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The thread looks okay to me.
