there must be some mistake in writing question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because "X" cancels out !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5(x − 7) = 3(x − 2) + 2x this is the question from my book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's an equation not a question... - _ -

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\LARGE 5(x-7)=3(x-2)+2x\] \[\LARGE 5x-35=3x-6+2x\] \[\LARGE 5x=5x-6+35\] \[\LARGE 5x-5x=35-6\] ... here's why X cancels out ! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if it is -2x instead of +2x then x=29/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly dont know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ill run it by my instructor and see what she says

OpenStudy (anonymous):
