who has the most accurate answer. what is music. and how is different from ambient noise.(if you use google you will be disqualified).
music = beatles ambient noise= nicki minaj ;)
nice....
thanks! Music is the combo of vocal and instrument and idk about ambient noise besides its something that grates on the nerves and it can cause the body to become stressed even subconsciously
ok well thats the closest answer.. but not right
hmmmm can I keep guessing?
yeah =3
Music follows a beat or pattern, while ambient noise...is well....ambient. Music can include instruments, vocals, and sounds that all follow or create a beat together. Right?
close there is two words i wanted for music can you guess them.
....do I get any clues? "harmonic percussion"?? lol
composition and...?
no give up?
Ambient noise and music may have some overlap. In simple terms, I'd say music has rhythm and emotion, but those are not necessarily required.
still no....ok ima tell ok so the answer is ambient lacks two things to become music rhythm and harmony between the noises when you have harmony with any set of instrments it will sound wonderfull.
So what if I just have one instrument? There is no harmony there; is it not music? :P It's extremely hard to give definitions to some musical terms, especially genres. For example, what makes something art versus just existing naturally?
most interesting debate ...
well tempo is time so theres a tempo to everything...
who to medal O.O that is the question.
rain 4 me was closest..
Tempo and rhythm go hand in hand, but I don't think tempo is a prerequisite for music. If you really want to see the ranges of what can be considered "music", read up on John Cage, a crazy composer. He has a "song" called 4'33" (4 minutes and 33 seconds). It is a piece in three movements that each consist of silence. The "music" part of the piece is supposed to be the natural sounds that occur during its "playing", e.g. the noise of the air conditioning, the noise of people trying to stay silent. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4%E2%80%B233%E2%80%B3 A live performance!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUJagb7hL0E
But Matt is quite logical in his explanations....
He should've been a lawyer
One of my favorite videos. John Cage performing a piece using anything and everything, from a wine bottle to a rubber duck: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=SSulycqZH-U#t=340s
I love this question, and it seems appropriate for our newly 'official' music site. My answer? Music = butterflies in your chest and emotions triggered high. Ambient noise = something you can completely avoid with Music! :)
Won't you guys preez make up some Aviary tunes? The group mods assignments should not be ignored....
Thank you very much those of you who did take the time to make one.
