the local business club has 270 members.its rules state that a two-thirds majority is needed to amend the bylaws.a certain faction has determined that it can count on 139 votes....how many more votes does it need to pass its amendment??

Well it needs a 2/3rds majority to pass. So you would need to determine what 2/3rds of the total members is. That is the number needed to pass any amendment. Then it says they can count on 139. How many more votes will reach the number needed? Simple subtraction will give you the final answers. Try it out, what do you get, or where do you get stuck at?
