How do you find the x-intercepts and the vertex of a quadratic equation?

OpenStudy (sburchette):

You can find the x-intercepts by substituting 0 for x and solving for x. You find the vertex by using the formula -b/2a to find the x value and then substituting that into the function to find the y value.

OpenStudy (sburchette):

Correction: It should have said you substitute 0 for y and solve for x
