When, during the carbon cycle, is energy transformed from potential to kinetic energy?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would believe so because the Carbon Cycle is the process by which carbon is EXCHANGED among the biosphere and several other spheres. I would think that the energy would have ot be kinetic in order for it to be transferred. For example if you had a bucket of water that is potential at the moment but as soon as you TRANSFER that water to a small glass that would be a kinetic action so I believe yes it would be transferred.
