Use the elimination method to solve the given system of equations. 2x +y=14 3x -y=1 a.(2,10) b.(13,-12) c.(3,8) d.(5,4)

add bouth equations

OpenStudy (rulnick):

Pick an equation, solve it for one vbl, subst in the other eqn. For example, second eqn produces y=3x-1. Subst into other eqn to get: 2x + (3x-1) = 14. So 5x-1 = 14, 5x=15, x=3. Subst x=3 into either eqn to get y=8. Solution is (c), (3,8). Done.
