Given two sets, X = {things that are impossible or untrue} and Y = {mathematical statements}, which of the following are in X ∩ Y?. (Check all that apply) A.The sun won't rise tomorrow. B. 7+5=12 C.3^2=19 D.1>999 E.Smoking Kills

In order to be in the intersection of X and Y, an element must belong to both at the same time. A and E aren't mathematical statements, we drop them. Now, we look for a false value. D clearly is false, C also is false (3^2 = 9). So B and C are in the intersection of X and Y.
