Do you have to use a compass and straightedge to do this?

Good deal, then my response becomes far less complicated. In order for any two polygons to be similar there are two conditions that have to be satisfied. 1) All angles are congruent 2) Sides will be proportional (the second means that the sides of one triangle were multiplied by the same number to get the sides of the other) Where are you having trouble doing this?

in my geomerty class but it says make a similrty statment

you can draw 2 similar with one 'inside' the other |dw:1335043449760:dw|

thankyou for your help but i dont know how to write they statement what am trying to say. i know all about they other things you guys are saaying

triangles ade and abc are similar - corresponding angles are equal - the triangles have the same shape and corresponding sides are in same ratio eg ad/ab = ac / ae
