How are these to equations the same and different 1. y =-3/2 x + 4 2. –3x + 2y = 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rearrange no 2 to same form as 1: 2y = 3x + 3 now divide both sides by 2: y = (3/2)x + 4 now you can compare this with no. 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops - second line should be 2y = 3x + 8

can you now see the difference and similarity? recall that for y = mx + c m = slope and c is intercept on y axis
