If a salesperson places telephone calls to 80 potential customers, speaks with 60% of them, and books appointments with 50% of the customers she speaks with, how many customers does she book?

24

Expanding upon what @kumar2006 has done: She calls 80 people, and makes talks with 60% of them. That is 48 people (80 people * 0.60=48). Then if she books appointments with 50% (half) of them, you get 24 people because 48*0.50=24. You are just converting percentages into decimals, and then multiplying by those decimals this problem.
