Simple work question: I have a ping pong ball that weighs 2.7g - I have to lift the ping pong ball 10cm. How much work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Work = Force x distance if I recall distance is easy that is 10cm or .1 meters but I don't remember how to do Force...mass(weight in this case)....in some kind of relation with the acceleration of gravity...oh lifting straight up: I know that matters. Hope someone can help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Force = mass times accelleratn therefore F = ma W = mgdeltay = (2.7)(9.8)(.1) = 2.646 J = 2.6 J

I knew it was easy ---thanks
