The first sentence is great. It introduces the ideas you want and is concise. In the second sentence, I think it should be "Mean Girls" (with a capital...you have girls in lowercase). After the word "themes" in the second sentence, you should put ";" not ",". Also I would place a period after "...Brad and Regina George both have low self-esteem." Without that period, the entire second sentence becomes a run-on. You might want to have it as such:
