If the angles of a triangle are represented by x, 3x+20, and 6x , the triangle must be a. obtuse b. right c. acute d. isosceles

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

the sum of angles is 180. so, adding all the equations and = 180, solve them and you will get x. find the angles and see if there are any 90 degrees or similar angles.

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

\[x+3x+20+6x=180, x=16, other \angle=68, other =96.\] so i guess its a)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah since the third angle is greater than 90 so its obtuse ? @P0sitr0n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In a triangle if any angle is greater than 90 it is an obtuse triangle.

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

yes
