Given the formula solve the indicated variable d=rt for t

Parth (parthkohli):

t = d/r ?? Not sure what the question is about...

OpenStudy (muhammad_nauman_umair):

t = d/r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t = d/r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats all it says

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think you mean make r the subject of the formula you do this by dividing both sides by r the 3 guys have got it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its looking for the indicated variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry - my first sentence should be make t the subject

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the indicated variable is t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry we have to solve for the indicated variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right - thats what the guys have done - basically it means same as make the indicated variable (t) the subject ie 't = whatever'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was a bit confusing ( the way you wrote it) - leaving out the 'for'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i likt the cat , by the way

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tks so how would i write it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like this" t = d/r

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you thats what i thought

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why does it say solve for

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's the solution for it. :)) you have solved for the unknown although it is still unknown but that is the best you can get from the givens of the problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thanks
